Pet Travel
Travel with pets can be adventurous and exciting, or it can be a hassle. If you're planning to take Fido or Fluffy with you, book hotels in advance and make sure you understand their pet policies. Purchase a book filled with pet lodging and contact information, then call ahead to be sure the policies haven't changed. Visit your vet for vaccinations and a travel certificate in case you need to show it to authorities wherever you are traveling.
Be VERY careful in your decision to travel with your pet by air. Both times I moved across the country, I drove with my dog in the car and stopped every two hours so she could relieve herself and stretch her legs. While air travel for people is safer than by car, I believe the opposite is probably true for animals.
